The Last and Final Leg

While Iditarod officially ended many weeks ago, this years champion didn’t begin his final stage of getting back home till now.

Only yesterday, could Thomas Wærner finally bring his full dog team onto an airplane from the 1950s, destination Stavanger, Norway. The old plane is also coming “home“ and is intended to be an exhibition piece at the aerospace museum, Flyhistorisk Museum Sola.

This turned out to be the only way for Thomas to get his whole group of champions safe and sound to Norway. Today June 2nd, 14.30 local time, the flight is scheduled to land at Sola airport, Stavanger, Norway.
