Taking care of dropped dogs

All of the dogs in the Iditarod are constantly checked up on to make sure that they are always in their best shape. This means that in some cases, not all of the dogs in a team will go all the way to Nome. When this happens, they are being taken care of by the best vets.

“So now we have ten dropped dogs that we are taking care of until they can be flown out. We are happy to give them lots of love”, says the vet.
