In the field you will once again meet some familiar faces, with our amazing expert Dallas Seavey and our great host, Kari Anne Saude, which will providing updates from the trails. The participants of the Big Volga race will start in Shiryaevo and go by Sosnovy to Karmaly. The teams will then turn around at Uslava and return back to Shiryaevo, on the lower part of the trail.

At Karmaly, all mushers must take a 6-hour mandatory rest, however it is up to the musher whether they rest on their way to, or from Uslada. Karmaly is the only place to have the mandatory rest and any stopping time along the trail will not count on their total rest time.
